The Food Festival

The top leading food festival in South East Asia are nearly coming. In the next region of our resort, the third Ubud Food Festival (UFF) will be held on May 12-14, 2017. The UFF will be attended by all culinary from Indonesia and around the world. Innovative chefs, amazing local products, mouthwatering and breathtaking colorful food will be united in one place.

The theme of the event will be the culinary exploration of Bali, the world’s most beautiful island. Titled “Every Flavor is a Story,” this year’s installment of the annual culinary festival, held in the Ubud area, will be the largest in the food festival’s history.

The theme celebrates Indonesia’s culinary heritage, in which every ingredient, recipe and culinary tradition tell a story of the archipelago’s history, geography and diverse cultures.

Founder and director of the UFF, Janet DeNeefe, explained  “This festival offers plenty of culinary events for visitors to gather around, eat, drink, party and share their knowledge of cuisine. Indonesian cuisine has reached an international level of fame and so have its traditions and the practitioners”.

The confirmed guest stars for this year’s event are celebrity chefs Farah Quinn, Marinka and Bara Pattiradjawane. Also attending are local culinary legends, Sisca Soewitomo and Bondan Winarno.

Culinary expert William Wongso, who, at last year’s event launched his book, Flavors of Indonesia: William Wongso’s Culinary Wonders, will also be attending and will bring another surprise for us this year in the UFF.

Other guests include are Locavore’s Eelke Plasmeijer, who recently made it onto Asia’s 50 best restaurants list, dessert expert Will Goldfarb of Room 4 Dessert in New York City, Chris Salans from Ubud, Mosaic institution, Michelin-star chef Nic Vanderbeeken of CasCades Restaurant and Hujan Locale’s chef Will Meyrick.

In this three-day program festival’s, you can do and explore many things from day-morning to the night. You can start doing yoga together in the morning, and then jump into the “Think, Talk, Taste” discussion, Local Market foods explore, Masterclass sessions, cooking demos, and movie screenings on the night. As it will be 100 speakers from Indonesia and abroad attending, you will get many events menu to fill in.
